Are you on the fringe of the playoffs and need a big win to put you back in the game? Look no further. I got your back! Leave me a comment of ask me a question on Twitter @JD_Honeycutt. You may have seen this named Start/Sit, Like/Dislike, or Love/Hate on other sites. NOTE: This column is not meant for your obvious fantasy starters like Aaron Rodgers or Arian Foster, but rather your mid-tier players you may have to make roster decisions with this week.
TOAST These Players!
Eli Manning, QB, Giants - I am playing against Manning in my big league this week, and I don’t want him to have a huge game. However, the stats show he is in for a big game against a weak Redskins secondary.
Andrew Luck, QB, Colts - Luck has had some rough outing as rookies do, but I expect both him and Weeden to be caught in a shootout this week.
Jay Cutler, QB, Bears – I love when I have players going on Monday night, especially when they have a great matchup like Cutler. Unless, it is Philip Rivers throwing four picks and ruining you fantasy week like last Monday!
Chris Johnson, RB, Titans - Johnson is no longer a fantasy beast, but he is a good matchup play against the Bills this week.
Darren Sproles, RB, Saints - With news of Jimmy Graham out this week, expect Sproles to be involved more in the short passing game.
Vick Ballard, RB, Colts - Ballard will not see all the carries in this backfield, but if you need some RB help Ballard should do a nice job with his 12-15 carries and could even find the end zone.
Mike Williams, WR, Buccaneers - Both Williams and Jackson are in line for a great week against a Saints defense which has been atrocious at stopping the pass.
Randall Cobb, WR, Packers - The Rams passing defense is stout, but expect them to focus on Jones and Nelson and leave Cobb open for some short underneath throws. He is an especially nice play in PPR formats.
Kenny Britt, WR, Titans - Play your receiver on the Titans and the Bills this week, as this game has shootout written all over it. Britt is back healthy and is in line for a nice stat line against the Bills.
Scott Chandler, TE, Bills - Chandler is a boom or bust play, but the Titans have a tough time covering tight ends.
Owen Daniels, TE, Ravens - Daniels and the Texans defense had a tough week last week, but the sledding should be easier for Daniels this week on a banged up Ravens squad.
Vikings D/ST - How are the Vikings still available in some many leagues? They have a great matchup against the Cardinals offense with Skelton at the helm.
Raiders D/ST - If you are in need of a sleeper defense, look to the Raiders going up against the struggling Jaguars offense.
ROAST These Players!
Christian Ponder, QB, Vikings - Ponder has been a great play this season, but it will be a tough day for him against a stout Cardinals defense.
Cam Newton, QB, Panthers - Newton’s sophomore slump should continue against a Cowboys secondary that is allowing the fewest points to quarterbacks this year.
Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens - Flacco has been a nice surprise this season, but Flacco is not a good play against the Texans. Look for the Texans to come back with a vengeance after getting romped against the Packers last week.
Steven Jackson, RB, Rams - Jackson is not longer a good play, as he will lose more and more carries to Daryl Richardson. Only use him if he has a great matchup.
Mikel Leshoure, RB, Lions - Leshoure should see the lions share of carries with news that Jahvid Best in to coming back, but it will be tough to find room to run against this Bears defense.
Shonn Greene, RB, Jets - Greene has a wonderful week against the Colts last week, but don’t let that cloud your judgement into thinking he will have another big week against the Patriots.
Steve Smith, WR, Carolina - Smith will get back on track with Newton this season, but don’t expect it to be against this Dallas secondary.
Torrey Smith, WR, Ravens - Its hard to bench a deep threat like Smith, but temper expectations for him this week.
Andre Roberts, WR, Cardinals - Roberts developed a nice rapport with Kolb, but don’t expect to see the same workload for Roberts with Skelton taking over this offense.
Kyle Rudolph, TE, Vikings - Rudolph has been a beast lately, but the Cardinals do a great job at covering tight ends and it may be tougher for him to find the end zone.
Dennis Pitta, TE, Ravens - Pitta started the season strong, but has faded the past few weeks. Don’t expect him to breakout against the Texans.
Giants D/ST - The Giants have a great defense, but the Redskins have not allowed many defenses the chance to cash in on points.
Jets D/ST - The Jets should struggle against a high octane Patriots offense.
